Additional Information
Year 5 +6 swimming
Children will need a swimming cap and a swimming costume or trunks (trunks must be tight-fitting and not of the Bermuda style shorts) and a towel in a clearly named bag.
PE – all children
All children need to come to school on the day they have PE wearing their kit.
For indoor PE, children should wear plain navy or black shorts or joggers, a plain white polo shirt or PE shirt (see above) and trainers. Children do not need plimsols.
For outdoor PE during winter months children should wear plain joggers/leggings, plain white polo shirt or PE shirt, a plain hoodie/jumper and trainers.
Jewellery
Valuables should not be brought to school.
Basic jewellery and watches are the child’s responsibility if he/she chooses to wear them. School is not liable for any lost items of jewellery. Earrings – Children are allowed to wear a small pair of plain, silver or gold studs but these must be taken out for PE due to Health and Safety Regulations. Children must be able to remove earrings themselves as staff are not permitted to do it for them. If children are not able to take their own earrings out then, unfortunately, they will not be able to participate in PE lessons. Earrings cannot be covered with a plaster.
Headscarves and Hairstyles
Headscarves should be plain black, white or grey if worn for religious reasons.
To ensure all children have a neat appearance whilst in school, please avoid extreme hairstyles. (No patterns or lines to be shaved into the hair). Please save these for the summer holidays.
